The Public Library Design: Working from the Inside Out and the Outside In seminar was held on Friday 29 October 2010, at the State Library of Victoria. It is part of the professional development delivered as part of the Statewide Public Libraries Development Projects.
The speakers addressed use of placemaking concepts in designing public libraries; raised consumer expectations for quality interior space; creating physical spaces in the digital age; new spaces for joint use by school and public libraries; making spaces to attract and hold young adults; environmental sustainability; and, how librarians and architects work together.
This seminar was targeted to senior library professionals and others involved in developing, supporting and funding public libraries.
