International exchanges are an exciting prospect and many Australian librarians have participated in such exchanges. Opportunities for these exchanges can be accessed through LIBEX libex.camp7.org. Also, some librarians advertise for exchanges in library journals. Usually two individuals with the agreement of both libraries will come to a mutually satisfactory arrangement regarding the swap. As a general rule, each librarian maintains their own salary and swap houses and jobs. It is a wonderful opportunity and can deliver great benefits to both individuals and both libraries.
